2nd Annual AAO Community Block Party

Saturday, March 9th, 2019 from 8:00am to 3:00pm (CT)

AAO is a local Non-profit organization with a mission to build champions for life through the transformational power of sports. We serve youth and families from many ethnicity represented in NWA.

We are hosting our second annual Community Block Party featuring a 3 on 3 basketball tournament on Saturday, March 9, 2019. As we observe the tension in our nation around difficult topics, we want to be a part of helping to build positive relationships in our community as well as creating opportunities for conversations about hard topics in a way that builds us all up through empathy and a desire for unity through diversity.

AAO is partnering with local law enforcement agencies (Washington Co., Fayetteville PD, Springdale PD, AR State Troopers), other local non-profit organizations (Potter's House, Big Brothers Big Sisters of NWA, Mount Sequoyah Center, The Spark Foundation), Fayetteville Public Schools, and Kiss 105.3 NWA Radio Station.

The day will consist of the 3 on 3 basketball tournament beginning at 8am with championship games running until 3pm. The Kids Fair and Free Food will service from 10am to 1pm. We are requesting volunteers for the following:
  • Bounce House monitors (entrance and exit)
  • Score keepers for basketball games
  • Dodge-ball referees for Kids and Cops game
  • Food severs
  • Sidewalk Chalk
  • Help assist Petting Zoo keeper
  • Registration Table for 3 on 3 tournament
  • Clean-up
  • Other tasks at hand

You are free to invite others and enjoy festivities before or after your shift. If you plan to stay during the entire event, we will be sure to get you a break to enjoy the block party!
