Volunteer Action Center

The Volunteer Action Center consists of 54 dedicated students who make up the VAC board. Because the VAC board functions similarly to a nonprofit organization's board of directors, board members learn valuable skills such as volunteer recruitment, program coordination, fundraising, and leadership. Each year, the VAC provides meaningful service opportunities through events and ongoing projects that engage the university and Northwest Arkansas communities.

The VAC has 6 signature programs on campus for students to volunteer with. Please refer to the program's GivePulse page for more information, as the application process is different for each program.

Be sure to log your hours in GivePulse! Each year, you are eligible for the following service awards:
The Center for Community Engagement Award, signed by our director, Claire Allison (25 hours of service)
The Chancellor’s Award, signed by the Chancellor (50 hours of service)
The Mayor’s Award, signed by the Mayor of Fayetteville (75 hours of service)
The Presidential Award, signed with a letter from the POTUS (100+ hours of service)
*These are annual awards and are based on the hours you log in a single year.*
