I volunteered at the Beaver Watershed Alliance. During this event, our goal was to increase visibility and improve the habitat of the stream that runs adjacent to Wilson Park in Fayetteville. This volunteer opportunity was fun because it was something that I had never done before. We helped cut down invasive trees that were preventing the native habitat to grow. By doing this we also increased the visibility of the stream because it was so packed with invasive flora that one probably could not tell there was a stream there.

Helped execute an event from the Association of Latino Professionals. We brought in tamales and made hot chocolate for students. This event helped students get a study break from their finals because it is really important to take care of oneself and relax when finals are approaching. Students really enjoyed it!

This event was really fun because I got to help run and break down the ice skating rink at the Union for Cardinal Nights. I helped get people checked in, making sure they signed the liability waiver, etc. and I also helped pack up the PA equipment, the flags and other signs that were there for the event. This is one of the volunteer events were I had to do a lot of heavy lifting (elevator wasn't working at the union which led me to run up and down the stairs getting a good workout in)

This Honors College event called Pulse Discussion: Sexual Assault was very interesting. It is the very first time that I get enlightened about sexual assault through a panel that is very knowledgeable about this topic. I appreciate everyone who came and talk about how we can prevent this on campus and how we can report it. There were people in the panel that have been through some sort of sexual assault and it is not always easy to talk about this topic.

This workshop was really interesting because I got to hear a lot of different point of views from the Path Program students. (Food was great too by the way.) I liked that the time flew by because we all wanted to give our two cents to the questions being discussed. We should definitely do this type of workshops again! ( with a little more structure so everyone gets to say something because not everyone got to input.
