I donated 3 items. A razorback scarf,hat and a coloring book.
The event was hosted in the gym and outside. Most of the activities were inside the gym and the inflatables were outside. I helped out with the Football toss. The kids had 2 tries to throw the ball in between the hoop. If they missed, they got 2 pieces of candy. If they got one ball through the hoop, they got 3 pieces of candy and if they got the ball in both times, they got 4 pieces of candy. It was super fun and the kids had a lot of fun and many of them got a lot of candy.
I moved girls in on a Friday morning, we wore the blue tanks that said "recruitment 2018." I was required to help move in girls at the Northwest quad building B. However, there weren't many girls moving in at that time. So a group of us went to go help move in girls at the Maple dorms. We helped the girls who were participating in recruitment move all their belongings into their dorm.
I swabbed my cheek for Be The Match to see if i could be a possible match for anyone who may need a marrow transplant.
We delivered donuts and a thank you note to the people who have been working on the house. It was to show appreciation for all their hard work. We then walked up and down our "adopt a street" and picked up trash to clean it up and make it look nice.
We had some of the kids who had been in the Children's Hospital come visit with their families and they talked about the impact the Children Hospital has had in their life. We played many games throughout the day, such as: Hungry Hungry Hippo, Zumba Class, Evan Says, Scavenger Hunt etc.We danced all day long but it was so much fun!! The final reveal for the money that we raised was $43,648.93 for the Children's Hospital.
We helped make and paint banners for the dance marathon this weekend. There was also shoe boxes that we wrapped up in construction paper for the kids.
I went to go donate blood at the Williard J Walker Hall. It was my first time to donate blood. I had signed in and waited to get my blood pressure taken and blood sample. After that I had gone to one of the chairs and got prepped for my blood to be drawn. After it was all over I was offered a snack and something to drink and received a free t-shirt. They had me stay for about 15 minutes just to make sure I was okay.
