I got to table at the SOOIE involvement fair to introduce people to the SAFE RSO.
I got to sweep the floor and in doing so I found a coin.
I got to hand out Will Call Tickets. It was nice.
Cleaning trash is always fun. The group provided bags. There was some pretty graffiti and a lot of glass shards. Overall, one of my top 10 favorite trash cleaning days.
The farm is a nice place. It was refreshing to do physical labor. I got to wheelbarrow mulch around and pick weeds. There was soup afterwards.
I was in charge of coordinating a phonebanking event to call people who had signed the Mighty Earth petition. We gave people information on upcoming events and the goals of the campaign in Fayetteville. I got to train people on the volunteer team. Taking on leadership in volunteering gave me insight into what it takes to coordinate events, train people, and database information.
I called people who had signed the Mighty Earth petition for sustainable meat. The calls were to inform them of further information and opportunities for the campaign. Doing this improved my ability to talk to people in a professional tone over the phone, and I got to connect with people interested in the same environmental issues as me.
I went with ROCK camp to clean up Scull Creek. The cleanup went from 9-12. We picked up a variety of litter, from cans to tires and blankets. I enjoyed it a great deal.
