It was very fun to make the birdhouses! We finished ours pretty quick, although we struggled with some of the nails and the windows. We opted for a thick and thin alternation for the shingles on the roof and it turned out really cute.
I got to help clean to make the store look nice to incoming patrons who shop there! I was able to get lights organized and even found an Easter egg.
It was nice to work and organize things so that people will be able to buy items they need at a cheaper price.
It was really cool to see how much the house was built up. I also got to cut wood and it gave me nostalgia from back when I used to build sets for performances in high school. I am really glad to know that this hard work is going to benefit someone so much though.
It was very nice to meet these dedicated and wonderful people. I hope to work with them more in the future because I love their vision and mission and agree with them 100%.
I got to learn about several wonderful organizations that I inted to volunteer with, including previous organizations I had already volunteered with.
It felt really good to know that in Christmas a family who has struggled would have a house to live in. I definitely plan to work with habitat for humanity again as it is something I have always been passionate about. I believe everyone deserves a home, and I want to help make sure that people are able to have one.
It was wonderful to learn that Apple seeds works with children on nutrition and food plans, as well as the several Food Pantries to donate vegetables and recipes that people can use. I had fun helping bag the vegetables and clean up. It was also fun to look at all the different plants and vegetables they grew on the farm.
